The game takes place during an alternate reality where the superpowers refused to end the first "great war," and thus is rages on for another two hundred years. Tanks of all shapes and sizes are pitted against vast, mechanized defences: WWI style meatgrinders of the future through which your army must pass. Players are set to take on the role of either defender or attacker throughout the adventure, which will feature "a built-in map editor" that will "allow easy sharing of custom maps and defensive challenges with other GTB players" similar to the Gratuitous Space Battles community. Gratuitous Tank Battles is the whole of modern warfare and its sci-fi future. "Gratuitous Tank Battles is an RTS/Tower Defense hybrid with online elements and customisable units," the game's official site reads. Positech's next game, brilliantly titled Gratuitous Tank Battles, is expected to arrive during Q4 2011 on the PC and Mac. Gratuitous Space Battles developer Positech Games has revealed its next title, proving once again the indie dev has a penchant for selecting apt video game names. So, out of Gratuitous Space Battles of Tank Battles, which one do you prefer I for one honestly prefer Gratuitous Space Battles.
